about this page

As valuable as finished products are, I often find myself wishing I could see the intermediate results that came about in the process of creating a given thing. Sometimes there’s a desire to erase the bridge that led to a solution to “clean things up”, or the practice is to publish that paper in all its glorious academic jargon, or time is limited and getting intermediate results out aren’t worth the effort, but bridges can be helpful and fascinating in their own way whether it’s in revealing an insight or serving as an entertaining biography. Everything’s a potential intermediate result that’s in a state of progress anyway! Sure, you could do some kind of value-added analysis (tweet immediately? crank out an informal blog post? set aside a week to prepare a talk? spend a couple of months developing a paper?) but each of these activities offers something qualitatively different too.

All this is to say, I hope the material on this site can be useful and informative. You’re welcome to contact me about comments, questions, or suggestions. Stay tuned for more.
